 Experience the European Christmas Markets with New Friends!

Every Beatrice Bradley trip is crafted to maximize the experiences had during the trip.
The itineraries are specially made to allow time for engaging in conversation and having belly laughs with a new friend. We hope that the activities and experiences may allow you to come out of your comfort zone and to try new or unique things.
These trips are made to replicate a ‘friends get-away trip’. 

Day One: December 6, 2024 – Welcome to Munich! 

Fly into Munich International Airport – Arrive a day early let us know and we will help you make a hotel reservation.

Upon arrival, your hosts and our driver will be waiting to meet you, pick up your luggage and escort you through the beautifully historic city, to our hotel where we will stay for 2 nights!

On our first afternoon in Munich, together we will enjoy a sight-filled walk along the bustling streets of downtown Munich and end at the most famous Tavern in the world! Hofbrähaus! Enjoying classic German food and drink as well as the lively pub atmosphere!

Day Two: December 7, 2024  – Munich Walking Tour and the first Christmas Market!

We will start our morning off with a delicious, freshly made breakfast at the hotel to fuel up before our busy first full day in the beautiful city of Munich!

After breakfast, we will head out to meet our private guide for a fascinating and in-depth 4-hour tour of Munich’s historic beauty built 850 years ago! Meeted with an exuberant atmosphere and bustling culture you will experience, in depth, one of Europe’s great cultural centers! Along the tour we see some of the most famous landmarks including the Bavarian Parliament, Deutsches  Muesum, The Royal Palace and the Royal Opera House all located on the elegant Maximilian Street!

Maximilian Street – we will venture with our private guide to the ancient part of the town and be greeted by the medieval town gates, housing the colorful open-air market Christmas market Viktualienmarkt! We will also pass the Theatiner Church, Hall of Generals,  the historic House of Arts and the Angel of Peace!

Finally, the most special part of our day is in the heart of the city! Marienplatz (St. Mary’s Square)! One of the most famous traditional Christmas Markets resides here and it is believed to have started in the 14th century! 

This Munich, St. Marys Square Christmas market is one of the most famous in the world and we will be experiencing every aspect of it! From the locally handmade souvenirs, delightful snacks, and all the classic attributes of a Christmas Market!

Day Three: December 8, 2024 – “Off-the-Beaten-Path” Munich Tour and departure to Salzburg!

Following another delicious breakfast at our hotel, we depart for our “off-the-beaten-path tour” of Munich!

Our tour starts at Odeonsplatz, a large breathtaking square that is a local treasure.   This area is rich in history and architecture including the Theatine Church and Feldherrnhalle. Here will have some time to explore the square and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere!

Then, we will venture on to the Asam Church, an architectural gem. This historic church is small in size but contains a breathtakingly intricate interior.

Finally, we will finish our tour at Viktuaienmarkt, Munich’s famous Outdoor Market! In the winter the market is in full Christmas spirit! Enjoy a stroll through the market stopping for a warm drink or snack along the way.

After the tour, we will have some free time at the beautiful market for shopping, exploring or photos before we head on to the next part of our adventure… Salzburg!

Once arriving in Salzburg, we will check into our beautiful and luxurious hotel where we will be staying 2 nights.

Day Four and Five: December 9 & 10, 2024 – Christmas Tour and History in Salzburg!

Good Morning in Salzburg! Once heading downstairs for a yummy breakfast we will be introduced to our private tour guide who will be taking us on an in-depth and exciting tour of Christmas in Salzburg private tour!

We will discover the historic centre of the City of Salzburg including in-depth tours of the Medieval Fortress, Baroque Palaces, and Historic Churches. We will also see Mozart’s birthplace, and pass through the festival houses where the Salzburg Festival is held every year. This tour will let us experience the historic flair of this old city from a local point of view!

We will venture to the very heart of the old town of Salzburg to enter the extremely famous Salzburg Christmas Market! Here we will be able to explore and experience the Christmas Market in depth, while also learning about the history. Stopping along the stalls for warm drinks, classic snacks or memorable trinkets.

After our stomachs are full of delicious foods, and our spirits are full of Christmas joy from the Christmas Market, we will head back to the hotel to relax and rest before our next busy day as we head to Vienna.

Day Six: December 11, 2024 – Sightseeing, Christmas Markets and History Tour in Vienna  

Good Morning and welcome to Vienna! We begin our day with a delicious, and locally sourced breakfast at our waterfront hotel to fuel up before our adventurous day ahead! After breakfast we will meet our private local guide to depart for an in-depth tour through downtown Vienna. 

Day Seven: December 12, 2024 – Schonbrunn Palace & Vienna Woods Exploration

After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, we will return to the Christmas Markets for more shopping or pictures that were missed yesterday! 

In the afternoon, we will embark on a private tour of the most significant sites around Vienna!

We will explore the Vienna Woods, which are the most eastern foothills of the Alps. You will enjoy a stunning view over the city and the Danube River from Kahlenberg, the highest hill in the city. These famous landscapes are perfect photo opportunities!

We will drive to the wine area at the foot of the Vienna Woods, the town of Grinzing to learn why Vienna is called the ‘Wine-Growing Capital of the World’ as we explore some of the world’s largest grape fields.

Next on your list is the magnificent Schonbrunn Palace, the former summer royal residence, that gives you a historical impression of the glorious imperial times. We will take a guided inside visit to the showrooms of the Palace.

Day Eight: December 13, 2024 – Christmas in Slovakia

After breakfast, we will gather to head out to Bratislava, Slovakia, about one hour away. Once you have arrived, you will meet your guide and embark on a 4-hour comprehensive city tour around the most significant landmarks of Slovakia’s capital, Bratislava, beautifully enhanced with the festive charm of Christmas Markets. 

Your tour begins with a walk in the Old Town, where you see the Opera House and the charming Main Square, adorned with Bratislava’s oldest fountain and brimming with the holiday spirit. The square and surrounding streets are likely to be decked out with Christmas decorations, adding a magical touch to your tour. 

Together with your guide, you will visit the largest Bratislava Palace – Primate’s Palace, the former winter residence of Hungarian archbishops, to see 17th-century royal English tapestries. Then, you will pass through the St. Michael’s Gate and walk by the musician’s quarter, where famous composers of the past lived and gave concerts. 

A special addition to your tour will be a visit to one of Bratislava’s Christmas Markets. These markets are known for their vibrant atmosphere, where you can experience local holiday traditions, taste seasonal treats like honey wine and traditional gingerbread and browse through stalls selling handcrafted gifts and festive decorations. 

An early dinner will be enjoyed by all in the market area and then we will depart for the Vienna airport hotel to settle in for the night.  

Day Nine: December 14, 2024 – Departure Day

You will enjoy breakfast at the hotel before making your way by shuttle to the Vienna airport to take off to return to the USA.    Last group photos will be taken and you will say goodbye to new friends.
