THE TEXAS HILL COUNTRY EXPERIENCE
Come join us as we visit the Hill Country of Texas like Western explorers! We will start in Boerne, a German settled enclave nestled by the Cibolo Creek with a historic Main Street, one of the top 25 in the USA! Then a drive towards Fredericksburg to some of the top wineries with a special group of tastings that has been set up especially for us. On the way to Fredericksburg, we will view the Texas Bluebonnets at the peak of their season – a sea of beautiful blue flowers everywhere! We will also take in Gruene, with its storied past and a true Texas dancehall. Get those boots ready to hit the floor! While in the area, we will try out the famed Texas Barbeque at Black Board BBQ and drink Black Rifle Coffee in the morning! Shopping is fantastic in Boerne, so bring a little extra $$$ along. Day 1 – Welcome to Texas! You will meet your host and other travelers at the SAN (San Antonio) airport by 2pm and then we will drive to Boerne. We will check into The BEVY Hotel, have a quick dip in the pool and meet for our first night Welcome Dinner at a fabulous restaurant in town.
Today’s Highlights:
- Travel to Boerne
- Take a quick swim in our hotel pool or take a walk along the Historic Main Street
- Enjoy a great Welcome Dinner!
Day 2 – We will “Tiptoe through the Bluebonnets” and Taste the Best of the Hill Country Wines! We will load up for a scenic drive through the hills covered in Bluebonnets as far as you can see and will visit three fine wineries for a special wine tasting in the wine country near Fredericksburg. Our return trip takes us to Gruene for a visit to the historic town, dinner and a “Kick up your Heels” kind of night!
Today’s Highlights:
- Taking a scenic drive through the hills to see the Bluebonnets
- Visiting 3 fine wineries in Fredericksburg wine country.
- A visit to Gruene for dinner and some dancing at a Texas dancehall!
Day 3 – Rise and shine let’s see Boerne and all it offers! Those who would like to try the famous Black Rifle Coffee can walk with us to try a fab cup of joe. Breakfast together and then you can choose between bicycling/walking through the Nature Reserve on the Cibolo Creek, seeing the hundreds of years old Cypress trees. Or, you could go for a swim and get an early start shopping on Main Street. We all meet for lunch at one of the local brewpubs. You can shop the galleries and quaint shops. We will meet late afternoon for a ride to the famous Blackboard BBQ out in the country. We will taste this exquisite barbeque and meet the famous chef (TV competitor) to hear about his recipe for success. You can go out on the town when we return to the hotel, a little salsa dancing anyone?
Today’s Highlights:
- Checking out the famous Black Rifle Coffee for a fabulous cup of joe before breakfast with the group.
- You can choose between bicycling or swimming or shopping after breakfast.
- Lunch will be at a local brewpub.
- Shopping at galleries and quaint shops.
- Dinner at the famous Black Board BBQ for exquisite barbeque and meet the chef.
Day 4 We will have a group breakfast and then we will stroll the streets for a tour of the Boerne murals and a history lesson. We’ll hear how the Germans decided to come to this area and other wild west stories. We will then have a couple of hours to do that last minute treasure hunting. We will gather for our last lunch together and then depart by 1pm to catch flights after 5:00pm.

- Last minute shopping for treasures.
- Our last lunch and sharing travel stories.

What if I can not find an arrival flight before designated arrival window?
Our trips are typically only 4-6 days in length so we really try to make the most out of our time together. The first night we host a special Welcome Dinner where you really kick off the fun and start to get acquainted. However, we understand that it is not always possible to find a flight that works. There are a few options.
1. let our team know ASAP and it’s possible we can accommodate for it. In some situations there is a hotel shuttle or taxi that can be taken. However, some airports are too far from our destination for shuttle or taxi services, so it is important that you let our team know ASAP
2. Arrive a day early
- You will be responsible for your own transportation and hotel arrangements during that time
- Please let our team know if you would like to stay at the same hotel and we can help arrange it
What if I can not find a departure flight before designated departure window?
Our trips are typically only 4-6 days in length so we really try to make the most out of our time together. We have scheduled tours or meals the day of departure so it is possible that if you have a flight earlier than designated departure time that you will miss part of the tour. We would recommended tying to stay an extra night. Please note that you are responsible for all ground transportation for your departure if your departure is outside of designated window.
