The park houses various hills, lochs, cliffs and vast green plains.  A visit to the Palace of Holyroodhouse includes the remains of 12th-century Holyrood Abbey with the Palace gardens. Arthur’s Seat is an ancient extinct volcano that is the main peak of the group of hills in Edinburgh, Scotland, which form most of Holyrood Park.

It takes its name from the River Ness, which flows from the northern end.  Loch Ness is known as the home of the mythical Loch Ness Monster (also known as “Nessie”), a cryptid, reputedly a large unknown animal.
