Don’t just tour France, Experience France

Every Beatrice Bradley trip is crafted to maximize the experiences had during the trip.
The itineraries are specially made to allow time for engaging in conversation and having belly laughs with a new friend. We hope that the activities and experiences may allow you to come out of your comfort zone and to try new or unique things.
These trips are made to replicate a ‘friends get-away trip’. 

Day One: Arrival Day (Paris)

You will arrive at the Charles De Gaulle airport where you will meet at a gathering point and we will pick you up. Please book your flights leaving March 19 to arrive at CDG airport before noon on the 20th of March. We will then gather all and head to settle into the Hotel Montecristo very near the Latin Quarter 5th/6th arrondissement of Paris. You will have walking maps and a subway map of Paris and can spend the afternoon exploring along the lovely Seine River, walking in the Latin Quarter to see the Luxemborg Gardens, or the famous Sorbonne (world famous art school). We will have a welcome dinner near our hotel in the early evening.

Day Two: 

Today we gather for breakfast in the hotel and then meet in the lobby about 10 am for our guided tour of two famous districts in Paris: the Latin Quarter and the Marais. Quintessential French architecture is found in these areas and our guide will give us a history lesson as we walk along side the Seine River. Once finished we will head over to the Louvre Museum where we will be guided through the French Impressionists area and past some of the most famous sculptures. You will have remaining time to visit areas of the museum which interest you the most as small groups. You will return to our hotel and we will dine together at a lovely restaurant with typical French food.

Day Three: 

After our breakfast at the hotel, you will have time to sightsee on your own ( visit the Eiffel tower if you like, or Musee D”Orsay, OR, you may come with me while I take you on a retail therapy tour complete with fine chocolates, fashion and jewelry. Shortly after lunch (today this is on your own) we will meet our guide for a walking tour of the Opera, Pigalle and Montmartre (approximately four hours). Here we will see the Rue Lepic where many key art movements were born, also the Place du Tertre where we discover a village like charm in the heart of the city, you will even see a Parisian vineyard! We end our Montmartre tour with a visit to the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, famous around the world!

We return to our hotel to freshen up and head out for an evening of French cookery. We will make a three course traditional meal , under special Chef supervision, learning the secrets to successful French cooking. And the best is at the end when we eat what we have created.

Day Four:

Today we have an early breakfast and pack up to get to Gare Le Nord station for a fabulous day of seeing the countryside via the Train. We will zoom our way from Paris to Nice, in first class train seats where you can see the magnificent French countryside, so very picturesque. We arrive about 4pm and our driver will meet us to take us along the most beautiful cliffside drive from Nice to Beaulieu Sur Mer. We will check into the Hotel Carlton and after cocktails we will walk to dinner at the beach.

• Board the train at 10:45am.  Arrive Nice 4pm
• Driver takes us along the coastal route to our hotel in Beaulieu Sur Mer

Day Five: 

After breakfast we will have a walk through some of the picturesque parts of town and hear a little history. Then we will meet our driver around 11 am to head about 10 miles down the road to the famous Medieval village of Eze. Before we ascend a steep hill we can visit the Fragonard store, a famous place for wonderful skin care, perfumes, soaps, etc. on the outskirts of the actual village. Then we walk up to our charming spot, a rebuilt castle with wonderful artistic galleries and shops (jewelry, clothing, paintings, ceramics, etc.). After exploration for 1-2 hours, we meet at the entrance to the Botanic Garden built 3,000 feet up on the cliff that is EZE. Fabulous picture taking, the garden is very relaxing and has places to sit all around to enjoy the waterfalls and statues. We finish our lovely experience by dining at the famous Golden Goat ( Chevre D ‘Or ) overlooking two Mediterranean bays thousands of feet below us. You can see all the way to Monaco. Our driver comes back to escort us back to our hotel.

• Next Day visit Medieval village of EZE
• Dinner at the famous Chevre D’Or (golden goat) high atop the mountainside

Day Six: 

After breakfast we have time to walk to the beach for a swim in the Ocean or stay by the pool for a little sun, you could also shop if you like. At 11am back to our rooms to change into a “nicer outfit” for a trip to the Luxurious land of opulence, the Principality of Monaco. If you have ever watched the famous car race “ Grand Prix”, or seen the James Bond movie filmed at the famous Monaco Casino, or heard about those 200 foot Yachts that the Billionaires own, then you know the essence of Monte Carlo, Monaco. Our driver will guide us through the streets and let us off in the center of the city. We will take a walking tour and end up at the Casino. After a time, we will make our way to the Port area, amongst the huge yachts, for a lovely dinner. We return to the hotel for a night cap.

Day Seven:  Grasse and the Birthplace of the Fragrance Industry

After a lovely breakfast we will spend our last full day on the Riviera by traveling to nearby Grasse, France where the idea of perfume was born. We will join a private workshop at one of the oldest perfume factories in Grasse. As we are welcomed by the hostess, we are escorted to our workshop area as we hear about perfume making at this factory. A trained “ NOSE” will have our classroom all set up to explain how essences are combined to make the desired fragrance, how perfume reacts with our skin. The chemistry of it all will be revealed and the perfect treat for us is taking home our own fragrances at the end. We will find a spot for lunch at a sidewalk cafe.

Grasse also is home to lovely architecture and a great church which dates back to the 13th century, we will have time to walk along and visit the city too.

Day Eight: 

We gather for breakfast and then pack up to catch the train back to Paris. We will have a great time seeing the countryside, reading a book or maybe sharing pictures with each other while the train speeds along. Once we have arrived in Paris, our driver will pick us up and deposit us at the Hotel du Cadran, in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower. We will meet for a cocktail and then head off to a wonderful dinner.

Day Nine – Departure Day

Our farewell breakfast is bittersweet but we have a last chance to make some photos and say our good byes. We will then take an early group and a later group to the airport to board your flights home.
