Activity Level: Full & Active – Be Ready to Walk, Explore, and Be Amazed

This journey through England includes multiple hotel transfers, guided city walks, and a variety of transportation types (coach, boat, and on-foot exploration). To fully enjoy the experience, guests should be comfortable with:

  • Walking on uneven pavements and cobblestone streets, especially in historic areas like Oxford, Bathm and the Cotswold villages

  • Climbing moderate stairs in historic buildings and castles (elevators may not always be available)

  • Standing for 1–2 hours at a time during guided tours and site visits

  • Managing your own luggage during hotel transitions. Your hosts will also have their own bags and cannot handle luggage for others. We recommend packing light—just what you can manage comfortably on your own.

  • Getting on and off coaches, boats, and other vehicles without assistance

While the pace is relaxed and we include plenty of time to rest, this trip is best suited for women who are confident walkers and able to handle light to moderate physical activity on a daily basis.

Day 1: Welcome to London! 

Your English journey begins as you arrive at London Heathrow Airport. After clearing customs, you’ll be greeted by your Beatrice Bradley hostess and fellow travelers before heading into the heart of the capital. London awaits with its striking mix of regal landmarks, historic avenues, and lively neighborhoods buzzing with energy.

We’ll check into our boutique hotel just steps from Trafalgar Square and Covent Garden. Take the afternoon to settle in, explore the nearby shops and cafés, or join your hostess for a gentle stroll past iconic sites.

In the evening, we’ll come together for a welcome toast and dinner at one of London’s delightful restaurants. It’s the perfect way to connect with your fellow travelers and ease into the adventure ahead.

Day 2: London in Motion – Car Tour & Tower Secrets 

After a relaxed breakfast, we head out late morning for a 4‑hour private car tour that strings together London’s greatest hits – Trafalgar Square, the Mall, Piccadilly, Westminster, the South Bank, and more – with photo stops woven in so you can stretch and capture the moment. Your driver‑guide shares stories as we pass landmarks, neighborhoods, and hidden corners that stitch the city together.

Midway through, we step inside The Tower of London for a guided visit, home to a thousand years of intrigue and the glittering Crown Jewels. Walk the battlements, peek into ancient towers, and feel the history underfoot.

The late afternoon is yours to recharge. Dinner is arranged near the hotel, an easy walk away, so you can keep the evening relaxed after your first full day in the capital.

Day 3: Royal Friday – Changing of the Guard, Westminster Abbey & St. Paul’s Cathedral

A full Friday devoted to a deeper look into London’s iconic sites. We gather in Parliament Square, taking in postcard views of Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament while your guide sets the scene for the day. Then it’s inside Westminster Abbey to walk the same flagstones as poets, scientists, and monarchs – lingering in Poets’ Corner, hearing coronation stories, and soaking up the hush beneath the soaring Gothic vaults.

From there, a gentle stroll through St. James’s Park leads us to Buckingham Palace. The Changing of the Guard kicks in with drums, brass, and precise footwork as scarlet tunics and bearskin hats sweep past – we’ll snag a good viewing spot and enjoy the spectacle. Afterward, we refuel with a classic pub lunch: think crisp fish & chips, a hearty steak-and-ale pie, or a fresh seasonal salad, then make our way across the city for the afternoon’s grand finale at St. Paul’s.

Inside St. Paul’s Cathedral, admire Wren’s masterpiece from nave to dome; those who wish can test the acoustics of the Whispering Gallery when open. We’ll weave in a couple of quick photo pauses—perhaps by Millennium Bridge or a riverside lookout—before returning to the hotel.

The evening stays easy with a group dinner and time for a nightcap or a short twilight wander if you’re still buzzing from the day.

Day 4: Castles to Capsules – Windsor Castle & the London Eye 

This morning we head to Windsor to explore Windsor Castle – the State Apartments and St. George’s Chapel reveal royal life across the ages. Enjoy a little time on the high street for tea or keepsakes before we return to London early afternoon.

Back in the city, enjoy a relaxed choose-your-own block: souvenir shopping in Covent Garden, a wander through a the British Museum, or a restful pause at the hotel. Your hostess will share easy options so you can follow your mood.

As dusk settles, we regroup for dinner together and then glide above the Thames on the London Eye. Watch the city switch on- bridges lit like jewelry, the river curling below, and landmark silhouettes glowing against the evening sky. It’s a sparkling, feel-good finale to our time in London.

Day 5: Into the Spires – Oxford Arrival & Afternoon Punting

We trade London’s bustle for college-town charm this morning, rolling through gentle countryside toward Oxford. On arrival, we drop bags at the hotel and slip right into local life with a light lunch at a favorite spot – simple, seasonal, and easy. A short orientation wander helps you get your bearings among honey-stone lanes, shopfronts, and spire-topped skylines.

This afternoon, the pace turns delightfully unhurried on the water. Settle into chauffeured punts as we glide beneath overhanging willows and along quiet meadows, with swans for company and storybook views of college gardens. It’s a relaxed, only-in-Oxford moment, blankets at the ready if there’s a breeze, cameras out when the sun breaks through.

Back on land, we return to the hotel for check-in and a little downtime before gathering for a convivial dinner just steps away. Expect warm hospitality, good conversation, and a cozy setting to toast the next chapter of the journey.

Day 6: Books, Quads & Biscuits – Oxford in Depth

Today we peel back the layers of this storied university city. A guided walk opens gate after gate to reveal quiet quadrangles, cloisters, and centuries of traditions. Step inside the exquisite Divinity School to admire its fan-vaulted ceiling, pause by the Radcliffe Camera and Bodleian courtyards, and visit one college interior for a closer look at student life past and present.

The afternoon brings time to graze your way through the Covered Market – fresh bakes, cheeses, and colorful produce – or to duck into a bookshop for a treasured find. 

We close the day with an optional stroll along the river, then gather for dinner at a cozy local restaurant near the hotel.

 Day 7: Cotswold Day – Honey-Stone Villages, Bridges & Ales 

Today we trade spires for rolling hills. The Cotswolds opens in soft greens and warm stone, and we keep the pace unhurried so there’s time to look around, pause for photos, and enjoy the simple pleasure of village life. We start by meandering through Bibury and Bourton-on-the-Water, two favorites for gentle walks – low bridges over clear streams, cottage gardens, and picture‑perfect lanes.

Midday brings us to Cirencester, often called the capital of the Cotswolds. Enjoy time to choose your own lunch, wander the market square, step inside the medieval parish church, and browse small boutiques tucked along side streets.

In the afternoon we continue to Stow‑on‑the‑Wold, high on the ridge with wide views. Antique shops, cozy tearooms, and inviting inns make it a lovely place to linger before we wrap up the day.

We return to Oxford in the late afternoon with time to freshen up before gathering over a delicious meal together.

Day 8: Transfer to Bath – Experience Rome in England   

We point west toward Bath, gliding through patchwork fields to a city famed for golden stone and warm springs. After dropping bags and a light lunch nearby, we step into the Roman Baths, where steaming mineral waters still bubble beneath pavements laid nearly two millennia ago. Your guide connects ancient ritual with Georgian society, setting the stage for everything you’ll notice around town.

Later, we take a gentle city walk: the Royal Crescent curving like a smile across the hillside, the perfectly rounded Circus, and leafy gardens that show Bath at its most graceful. We’ll pause by Pulteney Bridge for a classic view of the river and its weir before returning to the hotel to settle in.

The evening stays easy with dinner as a group in one of Bath’s elegant lounges.

There’s time for a pub lunch and a relaxed guided wander among half‑timbered houses and cloistered walkways.

Back in Bath, late‑day relaxation awaits at the Thermae Bath Spa rooftop pool—warm waters and skyline views.

Tonight’s dinner is an easy brasserie near the hotel.

Late morning and early afternoon are free for final shopping, an extra spa hour, or a quiet park bench with a view of the crescents

We come together mid‑afternoon for an elegant afternoon tea – scones still warm, clotted cream, and fragrant pots poured with ceremony.

As evening falls, we gather for a celebratory farewell dinner, a joyful finale of shared stories and new friendships.

What if i want to skip an activity? - How important is it to be on time?

You are never required to do all activities! Sometimes you need a little downtime, and you’re welcome to skip an activity if you’d prefer to rest or recharge. Just keep our hosts in the loop.

Being on time is also very important. We run a thoughtful schedule to make sure everyone gets the most out of each day. Out of respect for your fellow travelers and our guides, we ask that you arrive on time and ready to roll so we can keep the adventure smooth and stress-free for all!

Our Beatrice Bradley hosts are the glue that holds each trip together. They understand how intimidating solo travel can feel, and they’re dedicated to making your experience warm, welcoming, and full of laughter. From the moment you arrive, they’ll be there with a smile—helping you settle in, making introductions, and setting the tone for a fun and connected adventure.

Our hosts aren’t just handling logistics—they’re the heart of the journey. They create a sense of community, offer support, and help every woman feel seen, included, and valued.

Please note: our hosts are not local tour guides—we hire local experts for that. In some cases, it may even be their first time in the destination, just like you! While they’re often going above and beyond to ensure everything runs smoothly, we kindly ask that you treat them with respect. They are not personal assistants or luggage porters—they are your fellow travelers, dedicated to making this trip unforgettable for everyone.

How does tipping work?

We take care of all standard tips for included meals, local guides, and drivers—so you don’t need to worry about those details.

If you’d like to show appreciation to your Beatrice Bradley host, gratuities are always welcome but never expected. A general guideline is $5–$10 per day, per host, depending on your experience. Most guests find it a meaningful way to say thank you for the care, energy, and fun our hosts bring to each trip!
