Day Three: Biltmore Estate — Grandeur, Gardens & Gilded Age Charm

Today we step into the elegance and ambition of America’s Gilded Age at Biltmore Estate, the largest privately owned home in the United States.

Our day begins inside Biltmore House, George Vanderbilt’s 250-room masterpiece, explored at your own pace using the estate’s audio guide. From soaring staircases and grand salons to surprisingly intimate living spaces, each room offers a window into an era defined by craftsmanship, scale, and luxury.

Next, we wander through the estate’s renowned formal gardens, designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, the visionary behind Central Park. With spring in bloom, expect colorful floral displays, the lush conservatory filled with exotic plants, and peaceful garden paths perfect for slow, unhurried strolling.

In the afternoon, enjoy free time at Antler Hill Village. Browse charming shops and galleries, relax beneath century-old oaks, or visit the estate’s winery for a tasting or a quiet moment on the grounds. It’s a beautiful, leisurely close to a truly unforgettable day.

Day Four: Gardens, Trolleys & a Touch of Southern Charm

On your final full day in Asheville, enjoy a relaxed blend of natural beauty, local discovery, and light-hearted fun.

We begin the morning at the Botanical Gardens at Asheville, a peaceful hidden gem dedicated to preserving native Appalachian plant life. Wander gently winding trails and stone bridges while learning about the wildflowers, ferns, and woodland species that define the Blue Ridge region. It’s an easy, scenic stroll designed to slow things down and savor the moment.

From there, the day opens up with a Hop-On Hop-Off Trolley Tour, offering a fun and flexible way to explore Asheville’s most beloved sights. With lively narration and the freedom to come and go as you please, you’ll discover the city at your own pace — no maps, no parking, no planning required.

Hop off to explore favorites like Grove Arcade, the Montford Historic District, the River Arts District, or Thomas Wolfe’s Memorial Home. Whether you’re drawn to art, architecture, history, or a little local shopping, today lets you choose your own adventure.
