NORTHERN IRELAND – A CELTIC EXPERIENCE

September 23 – 30, 2023
8 Days/7 Nights

Northern Ireland experience with BBGage

Our Northern Ireland tour is specially designed for you. We have crafted a tour which will give you insight into the customs, history, and food experiences that true Irish women have experienced since they were young. Many tourists are remarkably familiar with the South of Ireland, there are many famous attractions, but do not discount the loveliness of the North. There are just as many wonderful places to see.

Northern Ireland provides an interesting history of Irish lives complicated because of the English invasion and subsequent land ownership (which many Irish still dispute today).  You will hear all about this on your Derry walking tour.

We start our trip by driving out of Dublin to the North and first visiting the Carrick-a Rede rope bridge (suspended 100 ft high above the Ocean and used by Salmon fishermen for more than 300 years), don’t look down!!  An experience not to be missed.  We will also visit a wonder of the world, the Giant’s Causeway, a spectacular geological formation. The next day we will our first stop will be at the Glenshane Sheep Farm, run by a fourth generation Shepard and his family. We meet his sheep dogs and view the training firsthand, as well as getting a chance to experience the sheering of an Ewe. When finished at the Glenshane farm, we will drive out to the Dark Hedges, the EERY tree lined landscape most recently featured when the GAME OF THRONES was filmed there. To end the day, we will have a tour of the famous Bushmills Irish whiskey distillery where we can have a shot or two to relax and enjoy all the fun that we had today.

Our tour will continue down the northern most start of the Wild Atlantic Way. We will visit the very educational ruins of Dunluce Castle And then we carry on with a death-defying ride on an oceanside road with a 30-degree gradient. Our group tour continues through West Donegal and the world famous Slieve league, where you will see the highest sea cliffs in all of Europe, along with awe inspiring vistas. A highlight of our tour in the North will be a stay at the Lough Eske Castle hotel in Donegal.

As aforementioned, we will be tasting Northern Ireland in many of the finest pubs and restaurants along our pathway. On to Sligo, this thriving but very traditional Irish seaport holds a host of treasures from the sea which we will enjoy on our tasting tour of Sligo. This is one of the high points of the trip!!!

Past Trip Reviews

Each area we visited, got to taste the food, culture and learn so much about Ireland and how it came to be the place it is today.

This was my first experience traveling alone. I just lost my husband in January and needed to get away. I was researching trips and came across Beatrice Bradley. After lots of Emailing and personal conversations with Debra Shutt, I felt comfortable enough to book my vacation to Northern Ireland and so glad that I did. What an amazing experience with a wonderful group of women. Debra was an amazing hostess with so much experience and compassion. I walked away from this trip with lifelong friends and I will be traveling with this group again. I have a trip to Cuba in March. –Jane

This was my first BB trip, as well as my first international trip. From the moment I expressed interest in the trip, Debra reached out to me and answered all of my questions and concerns. She was so reassuring and encouraged me to step out of my comfort zone. I cannot express in words what a wonderful, life-changing experience it was for me. I met so many new friends and have the self-confidence needed to travel again …. and I can’t wait. If you are on the fence about traveling, make the decision to GO. You will not regret it! –Deborah

Don’t choose not to go because you have no one to go with you. The group I traveled in started out as strangers. Strangers no more! I’ve made some friends for life and I can’t imagine missing out on that opportunity, along with seeing the beauty of the places visited. Looking forward to the next trip! –Deanna

Role of a Beatrice Bradley Host

Beatrice Bradley is an Experience Company not a Tour Company.  The role of a Beatrice Bradley Host is to be warm and welcoming. To relate and connect. To have attention to details. And to manage the behind-the-scenes magic so your experience is one-of-a-kind. They are not local experts nor are they tour guides. We hire local experts, guides, and historians as each location warrants. They are expert hosts and manage the camaraderie and logistics of the experience. Our goal is that your hostess will make you feel welcomed, comfortable, and that you will walk away with new & lasting friendships made during an unforgettable experience.
