Mountains UP CLOSE- Montana/Wyoming including Yellowstone and the Grand Tetons

Day 1 – Arrive in Bozeman, MT and we’ll settle you in for your first night stay at a hip hotel in downtown Bozeman. For those that can arrive by 2:00pm, we will offer a trip to the Museum of the Rockies on the first afternoon. This is a good way to get into a “western mountain mindset” as we spend a couple of hours touring real dinosaur bones and reconstructions of the dinosaurs found right there in Montana. You will also see wonderful Native American Artifacts with intricate beading and hand work, a photo gallery with fabulous pictures of the area, there is so much to see. If the museum is not your idea of fun, a walk down Main Street will yield fun boutiques for shopping and great bars/restaurants for a quick bite. We will host a welcome dinner and give an overview of what activities will be available to us on our journey into Yellowstone National Park.

Highlights:

  • Arriving in Bozeman, MT
  • Museum of the Rockies tour seeing real dinosaur bones and reconstructions of the dinosaurs
  • View beautiful Native American Artifacts with intricate beading and handwork and gallery
  • Shopping on Main Street at fun boutiques
  • Welcome dinner at a wonderful restaurant in Bozeman

Day 2 – Will be spent hiking and touring Yellowstone. We will arrange for a special guided tour through a few of the best spots and we will have plenty of photo opportunities throughout the park. The scenery in Fall is beautiful and the crowds have abated, we will be sure to experience the park in all its glory.  Don’t be surprised if you come home with more than 150 pictures!

Highlights:

  • Touring Yellowstone National Park
  • Having guided tours at a few of the best spots and lots of photo opportunities
  • Traffic stops as we watch Buffalo cross the road and maybe a moose viewing

Day 3We will settle into our lovely rustic Airbnb vacation rental houses where in the true spirit of friendship we will get cozy, enjoy camaraderie, a drink by the fireplace or firepit. These luxe accommodations will provide just a very few single rooms, most bedrooms will be shared with at least one other and there will be multiple “shared” bathrooms. It’s like living in the sisterhood of sorority all over again.

We will welcome ourselves into the Jackson Hole valley with a special dinner in town the first night. Jackson has the real cowboy spirit and after dinner for those who want to party Western style, we will head to the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar!

Highlights:

  • Arriving in Jackson, WY where we will stay at a lovely rustic luxe Hotel Yellowstone
  • Group dinner in Jackson Hole at one of many fine dining restaurants
  • Partying after dinner Western style at the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar

Day 4, 5 and 6 – While in the Jackson Hole area, we will ride bicycles along the extensive paved bike trails, being careful not disturb the moose or the buffalo. We will also plan at least two moderate mountain hikes: one to the Jenny Lake overlook and one with a guide to take us on the Taggart Lake/Bradley Lake route. For those with big adventure ideas we can book you on a Hot Air Balloon ride or a raft trip down one of the rivers, and our personal” MUST” suggestion is the best two-hour horseback trail ride a venue for seeing the Elk Valley refuge on one side and the Teton mountains on the other! In between outdoor activities, there will be time for you to explore the lovely town of Jackson for great shopping, grab lunch “on your own” and invite a new friend to dinner one night, out on the town.

Highlights:

  • Riding bicycles along the extensive paved bike trails
  • Hiking offered on the Jenny Lake overlook trail and another day on the Taggart Lake/Bradley Lake route
  • Choose from adventures like take a Hot Air Balloon ride, river rafting or a “once in a lifetime” horseback ride high atop a path with stunning views of the  Elk Valley Refuge and the Teton mountains
  • Shopping, eating and partying in the lovely town of Jackson

Day 7 – We load up for a ride out of Jackson Hole to Ennis, MT (a real ole west town) where we will stop for a brief lunch and a last bit of Montana shopping. The route we will drive has more gorgeous scenery around the Palisades Reservoir and after lunch we will head back to Bozeman and BZN airport for late afternoon flights home.

Highlights:

  • Heading to Ennis, MT – a real “ole west town” to have lunch and do last bit of shopping
  • Driving through the most gorgeous scenery around the Palisades Reservoir

Frequently Asked Questions

What if I can not find an arrival flight before designated arrival window?

Our trips are typically only 4-6 days in length so we really try to make the most out of our time together. The first night we host a special Welcome Dinner where you really kick off the fun and start to get acquainted. However, we understand that it is not always possible to find a flight that works. There are a few options.

1. let our team know ASAP and it’s possible we can accommodate for it. In some situations there is a hotel shuttle or taxi that can be taken. However, some airports are too far from our destination for shuttle or taxi services, so it is important that you let our team know ASAP
2. Arrive a day early

  • You will be responsible for your own transportation and hotel arrangements during that time
  • Please let our team know if you would like to stay at the same hotel and we can help arrange it

What if I can not find a departure flight before designated departure window?

Our trips are typically only 4-6 days in length so we really try to make the most out of our time together. We have scheduled tours or meals the day of departure so it is possible that if you have a flight earlier than designated departure time that you will miss part of the tour. We would recommended tying to stay an extra night. Please note that you are responsible for all ground transportation for your departure if your departure is outside of designated window.
