Alaska Girls Adventure Trip | Beatrice Bradley

ALASKA ULTIMATE GIRLS ADVENTURE

July 31 – August 7, 2022

Join our group as we journey into the wild beauty of our 49th state. 360-degree stunning scenery surrounds you everywhere you go. The land of glaciers and fiords, wildlife seen only in Alaska, and of course a helicopter ride up over and onto a glacier. Walk on one of nature’s wonders, cup your hands and drink from a clear blue glacial pool all with adventurers just like you. We will head south out of Anchorage to the Kenai peninsula for all the fun! Our group embraces adventure, encourages you to explore unknown sites and taste a new side of life. We have chosen a time of summer that has the least rainfall, Alaska is one big rainforest, after all. Come join us for a bucket list worthy trip, you will rave about this for years to come and the pictures you bring home will delight you for a long time. We believe this will sell out quickly!

July 31 / Day 1 Arrival times can greatly vary when traveling to Alaska, but we will be sure to wait for you so we can all have an Alaskan Style Welcome party with Wine and appetizers on your first night in Anchorage. A downtown hotel will give us a good night’s sleep and we are off early the next morning.

Today’s Highlights:

  • Welcome Style Party with wine & appetizers
  • Meeting new friends!

August 1st/Day 2: We will leave Anchorage and head south, taking in the Mountain Vistas and stop for a photo moment at Beluga Bay. The van then heads further south and we will take in the Potter’s Marsh wildlife refuge. Last summer we were able to see the Silver Salmon running in the small creeks that run throughout. Although we didn’t see a moose then, we saw plenty of signs suggesting that one could “pop out” at any time. The boardwalks of Potter’s Marsh allow for a lovely hike to start our morning. Leaving the marsh, we will head for Girdwood and a popular luxury resort hotel there. After a tasty lunch at our hotel, we will offer dramatic helicopter rides taking in the area Glaciers and even land on top of one for a view of a lifetime! Drink from the ultra-pure, ultra-blue glacial waters at the mountain’s top, the flight to and from is spectacular! We will split into two

groups to accommodate the helicopter ride, while one group is up in the air the other will be riding the mountain tram right at the resort, then we switch! Dinner in Girdwood after a thrilling day!

August 2 / Day 3 We head down the road to a small, sleepy town and hike a trail that will give us stellar views of mountains and a famous lake. After our exercise, shopping, etc., we will head to lunch spots on our own at the local “shanty”, pub, whatever suits you. Then Kayaking, walking, for those that want to explore the area and see the wildlife from the water. If you don’t want to kayak, you can shop and walk the quaint town. Back to Girdwood for overnight catching dinner before we head off for sleep.

Today’s Highlights:

  • Hiking
  • Shopping
  • Kayaking
  • Dinner together as a group

August 3 / Day 3 Traveling on a wonderful ride south to the Kenai Peninsula where we might see a moose or two along the way and some eagles for sure! We will stop once or twice to take some dramatic photos of the Ring of Fire. (Volcanos and Glaciers). Arrive Homer in time for lunch and exploration of the marina, shops and a walk along the lovely Homer Spit. Homer will be our location for Days 4-7. It is breathtakingly beautiful! Homer is the site of the world’s best halibut fishing. Eating in Alaska is a major treat, even those who don’t eat fish might be tempted to try the buttery Halibut or fabulous salmon caught here. There are plenty of choices so if fish isn’t your thing, not to worry!  Accommodations in Homer are directly on the water, so no extra charge for the views. Dinner together with the group.

Today’s Highlights:

  • Hopefully seeing moose and eagles!
  • Taking photos of The Ring of Fire – Volcanos and Glaciers
  • Arriving in Homer, AK
  • Enjoying a seafood dinner with the group

August 4 / Day 5 Exploration of Alaska continues with a chance to go on a half day fishing excursion to catch the Halibut (ship it home) or, travel by Ferry (45 min ride) to the town of Seldovia. This was the site of great trading by the Russians and is home to indigenous Eskimo tribes. For those who come to Seldovia, there is a guided nature tour and exploration of the tide pools, birding, animal watching and a tour of a native wildlife artist’s work. Also, you will walk the boardwalk and experience a bit of history of the Kenai Peninsula and be sure to grab some lunch at the local spot (lunch on your own). At day’s end we will reconvene for a great dinner, stories to be told around our table for sure.

Today’s Highlights:

  • Enjoying a half day fishing excursion to catch Halibut
  • Traveling by ferry to Seldovia, AK
  • Having a guided tour of the Kenai Peninsula
  • Dinner with the group

August 5 / Day 6 We will offer a yoga session or you can visit a spa for a relaxing respite. (Spa services are an extra charge) You will also be able to enjoy walking the Homer Spit beach, touring some art galleries and just exploring wherever you feel like going. Join us for lunch with your new friends at a special place.  Return on your own to our resort for a meet up and having dinner together.

Today’s Highlights:

  • Spa Services (at option at an extra cost)
  • Free day to walk the Homer Spit beach or touring art galleries, etc.
  • Lunch together with the group
  • Dinner together with the group

August 6 / Day 7 Even more adventure awaits as we have a chance to see the wonderful offering at the Homer Farmer’s market, not your average Farmer’s market. There is also a local music festival in the area which you will be free to attend. A special dinner for our last night in Homer is planned.

Today’s Highlights:

  • Checking out the Homer Farmer’s Market
  • Enjoying a local music festival
  • Special last night dinner with the group

August 7 / Day 8 We will all travel to Seward (it is on the way to Anchorage), on a very scenic drive. In Seward, we will have a choice of boarding a very ocean-worthy vessel which will take you out to the edge of the bay and to the open ocean’s edge. The boat travels in a fjord with glaciers flowing down the mountain sides. You will see seals swimming and sunning, Puffins flying and diving, eagles soaring and, on most trips, they find the Orca Whale pods to watch swim alongside the boat. If you are not interested in the boat, you can instead visit the Iditarod Dog sledding camp, have a ride in a land sled pulled by the dogs and see first-hand how they handle the dogs. And the best is last – when you can cuddle and admire the new sled dog pups being raised at the camp! Box lunches will be distributed for you take on either trip. After, we head for the airport for nighttime departures after 9 pm. We can arrange another night’s stay for you (not included) if you wish to depart the next day.

Everyone will return to a meeting point and we will depart for Anchorage. At this point, this trip is officially ending in Anchorage. Those who have night flights will be dropped at the airport, make sure your flight will not depart before 9 pm. For those staying over, we will be going to the hotel where you will be charged separately for this and you will arrange your own transportation back for a morning flight (many leave very early in the morning, for example, 5:00am). If you choose to stay longer, or if we add on a second week where we will explore Denali National Park and a trip North, you will leave with us on the morning of August 8th, 2022. We will be posting the second Northern trip and this will require a second sign up.

Today’s Highlights:

  • Traveling to Seward, AK
  • Traveling via boat to see Seals, Puffins, Eagles and Orca Whales OR
  • Visiting the Iditarod Dog Sledding Camp
  • Cuddling sled dog pups
  • Departing for home

Frequently Asked Questions

What if I can not find an arrival flight before designated arrival window?

Our trips are typically only 4-6 days in length so we really try to make the most out of our time together. The first night we host a special Welcome Dinner where you really kick off the fun and start to get acquainted. However, we understand that it is not always possible to find a flight that works. There are a few options.

1. let our team know ASAP and it’s possible we can accommodate for it. In some situations there is a hotel shuttle or taxi that can be taken. However, some airports are too far from our destination for shuttle or taxi services, so it is important that you let our team know ASAP
2. Arrive a day early

  • You will be responsible for your own transportation and hotel arrangements during that time
  • Please let our team know if you would like to stay at the same hotel and we can help arrange it

What if I can not find a departure flight before designated departure window?

Our trips are typically only 4-6 days in length so we really try to make the most out of our time together. We have scheduled tours or meals the day of departure so it is possible that if you have a flight earlier than designated departure time that you will miss part of the tour. We would recommended tying to stay an extra night. Please note that you are responsible for all ground transportation for your departure if your departure is outside of designated window.
