Join our group as we journey into the beauty of our 39th state. The origin of the name Maine is unclear. One theory is it was named after the French province of Maine. Another is that it derives from a practical nautical term, “the main” or “Main Land”, “Meyne” or “Mainland”, which served to distinguish the bulk of the state from its numerous islands. Maine is the northernmost state in New England and the largest, accounting for almost half of the region’s entire land area. You will be experiencing unique boutiques and shops, farm and sea-to-table eats and charming Main Street communities to Portland’s historic neighborhoods and seeing some iconic Maine lighthouses!

Portland, Maine is one of New England’s most vibrant seaside cities: a place where lobstermen and lawyers walk the same streets, and every quintessential coastal experience you’ve imagined is either within city limits or a short drive away. Of course, that means lighthouses are a part of Portland’s fabric. One of Maine’s most photographed beacons—Portland Head Light—is a treasured symbol of the city and a romantic spot for a stroll—and four more lighthouses are within a 20-minute driving distance.
Every Beatrice Bradley trip is crafted to maximize the experiences had during the trip.

As the sun rises over the quaint streets of Portland, couples gather for a delightful breakfast at the Harbor Bistro, fueling up for a day of maritime adventure. The morning’s Harbor Lights & Sights cruise offers breathtaking views of iconic lighthouses, including the historic Portland Head Light, commissioned by George Washington. The journey continues with a visit to the Lobster Pound, where fresh catches are delivered daily, followed by a delectable lobster lunch at The Porthole Restaurant. The afternoon invites exploration of Portland’s charming shops and sights, before concluding with an exquisite dinner at Via Vecchia, where laughter and stories are shared over delicious cuisine.

We then journey to Two Lights State Park in Cape Elizabeth, where we embark on scenic hikes and explore the historic Two Lights Lighthouse. Lunch is a treat at The Lobster Shack, offering breathtaking views of the ocean. On our way back to Portland, we visit the iconic Maine Headlight Lighthouse for some memorable group photos. The day ends with a delightful dinner at David’s Restaurant.

The afternoon is yours to explore Portland’s unique shops, galleries, and cafes. As the sun sets, we’ll gather for a rooftop happy hour at Luna Bar, enjoying stunning views and refreshing drinks.
