Day 2: London from Above & Along the River
After a relaxed breakfast, we set out late morning for one of London’s most charming ways to experience the city – aboard a vintage 1960s Routemaster open-top bus. Your live guide shares stories as you cruise past Trafalgar Square, Westminster, Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, Tower Bridge, St. Paul’s Cathedral, Piccadilly Circus, and more – all from the best seat in the house on the open upper deck. It’s a perfect, easy introduction to London’s greatest hits without a single cobblestone underfoot.
From there, we make our way to the South Bank – London’s beloved riverside stretch – for an afternoon full of discovery. Float above the city in a glass capsule on the London Eye, taking in sweeping 360-degree views before coming back down to earth for a wander through Borough Market, one of London’s oldest and most celebrated food markets. Browse stalls piled with artisan cheeses, fresh bread, and local produce, and grab a bite to keep you going. Just steps away, we’ll stroll past the iconic Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre – a faithful reconstruction of the original 1599 playhouse – for photos and a moment to soak in the history.
The late afternoon is yours to spend as you wish. Rest at the hotel or explore the charming streets around Trafalgar Square and Covent Garden if the energy calls for it.
We come back together in the evening for a group dinner at a restaurant near the hotel – a perfect end to a day that showed us London from every angle.

Day 3: Royal London – A Private Day in the Heart of the City
Today is the day London earns its place on the bucket list. We have a private guide exclusively for our group from morning to late afternoon – no crowds, no rushing, and a pace that lets every moment sink in.
We begin at Parliament Square, where Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament frame one of the world’s great views, before heading inside Westminster Abbey with skip-the-line access. Your guide brings this extraordinary place to life – every coronation since 1066 has happened here, and the stories behind the flagstones, chapels, and tombs are endlessly absorbing. From Poets’ Corner to the Coronation Chair, this is history you can reach out and touch.
A gentle walk through St. James’s Park leads us to Buckingham Palace in time for the Changing of the Guard – scarlet tunics, bearskin hats, and a brass band in full ceremony. We’ll be in position for an excellent view before breaking for a classic pub lunch, where fish and chips, steak-and-ale pie, and a proper pint are very much the order of the day.
The afternoon carries us to the Thames for a relaxing river cruise, gliding past the London Eye, St. Paul’s Cathedral, and Shakespeare’s Globe from the water. We dock near the Tower of London for our final adventure of the day – a guided tour inside this 1,000-year-old fortress, where your guide leads you through royal history, ancient towers, and the glittering Crown Jewels, one of the most breathtaking sights in all of England.
The group comes together for dinner, a well-earned celebration of one of the most memorable days of the trip!

Day 4: Royal Retreats – Windsor Castle & a London Farewell
Our final morning in London takes us out of the city and into royal countryside. We head west to Windsor to explore Windsor Castle – the oldest and largest inhabited castle in the world, still an active royal residence today. Inside, the State Apartments reveal centuries of royal taste: lavishly decorated rooms, priceless art, and the kind of grandeur that never gets old. St. George’s Chapel is a highlight all its own – one of the finest examples of Gothic architecture in England and the resting place of ten British monarchs, including King Henry VIII and Queen Elizabeth II. Take a little time on Windsor’s high street before we head back – a tea shop or a keepsake shop is hard to resist.
Back in London, the afternoon is yours entirely. Wander through Covent Garden for last-minute souvenirs and street performers, spend an hour in the British Museum if curiosity pulls you in that direction, or simply return to the hotel for a proper rest before tomorrow’s journey to Oxford. Your hostess will have a few easy suggestions ready, but there’s no agenda – just London at your own pace, one last time.
As the day winds down, we gather for a relaxed group dinner near the hotel. Good food, great company, and no doubt a few favorite memories from the past four days already bubbling up around the table. Tomorrow the countryside calls – but tonight, London gets a proper send-off.
Overnight stay: London, England
Highlights
- Windsor Castle – State Apartments & St. George’s Chapel
- Windsor high street – time to browse, sip, and soak it in
- Free afternoon in London – shop, explore, or rest

Day 5: Into the Spires – Oxford Arrival & Afternoon Punting
We trade London’s bustle for college-town charm this morning, rolling through gentle countryside toward Oxford. On arrival, we drop bags at the hotel and slip right into local life with a light lunch at a favorite spot – simple, seasonal, and easy. A short orientation wander helps you get your bearings among honey-stone lanes, shopfronts, and spire-topped skylines.
This afternoon, the pace turns delightfully unhurried on the water. Settle into chauffeured punts as we glide beneath overhanging willows and along quiet meadows, with swans for company and storybook views of college gardens. It’s a relaxed, only-in-Oxford moment, blankets at the ready if there’s a breeze, cameras out when the sun breaks through.
Back on land, we return to the hotel for check-in and a little downtime before gathering for a convivial dinner just steps away. Expect warm hospitality, good conversation, and a cozy setting to toast the next chapter of the journey.

The afternoon brings time to graze your way through the Covered Market – fresh bakes, cheeses, and colorful produce – or to duck into a bookshop for a treasured find.

The Cotswolds opens in soft greens and warm stone, and we keep the pace unhurried so there’s time to look around, pause for photos, and enjoy the simple pleasure of village life. We start by meandering through Bibury and Bourton-on-the-Water, two favorites for gentle walks – low bridges over clear streams, cottage gardens, and picture‑perfect lanes.
Midday brings us to Cirencester, often called the capital of the Cotswolds. Enjoy time to choose your own lunch, wander the market square, step inside the medieval parish church, and browse small boutiques tucked along side streets.
In the afternoon we continue to Stow‑on‑the‑Wold, high on the ridge with wide views. Antique shops, cozy tearooms, and inviting inns make it a lovely place to linger before we wrap up the day.
We return to Oxford in the late afternoon with time to freshen up before gathering over a delicious meal together.

After dropping bags and a light lunch nearby, we step into the Roman Baths, where steaming mineral waters still bubble beneath pavements laid nearly two millennia ago. Your guide connects ancient ritual with Georgian society, setting the stage for everything you’ll notice around town.
Later, we take a gentle city walk: the Royal Crescent curving like a smile across the hillside, the perfectly rounded Circus, and leafy gardens that show Bath at its most graceful.
