A Celebration of Life, Connection & Meaning
Día de los Muertos is a celebration rooted in love—a time to honor those who have passed, not with sadness, but with joy, memory, and connection. It’s a tradition where stories are shared, laughter is welcomed, and the people who shaped our lives are remembered in a way that feels alive and present.

Day 2: Snorkeling the Reef & Experiencing the Resort
Today we head out to experience one of the most unique parts of this region—the reef just off the coast of Xcaret Park.
We’ll take part in a guided snorkeling experience along a protected section of the Mesoamerican Reef, the second-largest reef system in the world. The water here is clear and calm, making it approachable and enjoyable whether you’ve snorkeled before or not. As a group, we’ll move through the reef together, taking in the coral formations and marine life that make this area so well known—including tropical fish, rays, and, if we’re lucky, sea turtles.

Day 3: Paradise & México Espectacular
Ease into the morning at your own pace. Enjoy a slow breakfast overlooking the sea, lounge by the pool, or join an optional beachfront wellness session.
As night falls, we take our seats for Xcaret México Espectacular, one of the most recognized cultural performances in the Riviera Maya.
Set in the Gran Tlachco Theater and featuring more than 300 performers, this is a full-scale production that brings Mexico’s history and identity to life through music, dance, and storytelling. The show moves through more than 500 years of history—beginning with pre-Columbian traditions, through the Spanish conquest and colonial era, into independence and revolution, and ultimately into modern-day Mexico.
What makes this performance stand out is how it represents the country as a whole. Each region is brought to the stage through its own traditional dress, music, and dance—from the Voladores de Papantla ceremony, recognized by UNESCO, to regional performances from Oaxaca, Veracruz, and beyond.
You’ll see mariachi, folkloric dance, and cultural traditions that have been preserved for generations—all brought together in one well-executed performance.
It’s a strong, engaging way to understand the culture you’re experiencing this week and a highlight of the trip.
Highlights
- Leisurely Resort Morning – Relax poolside, stroll the beach, or join an optional wellness session.
- Experience cultural exhibits and environments that highlight the history and traditions of Mexico.
- Attend Xcaret México Espectacular, a large-scale performance featuring over 300 artists in a professionally produced show.
- Follow the story of Mexico through more than 500 years of history, brought to life through music, dance, and storytelling.
- Watch regional traditions from across Mexico, including mariachi, folkloric dance, and performances unique to each state.
- Share a full day and evening together, building connection through a truly immersive group experience.
- Group Dinner at the Resort – Celebrate the day’s adventure over an elegant shared meal.
Fun Fact: The word “catamaran” comes from the Tamil word kattumaram, meaning “tied wood” — originally referring to simple wooden rafts, now evolved into the sleek sailing vessels we’ll enjoy on the Caribbean.
Day 4: Día de los Muertos Celebration
Today is the reason we are here.
We return to Xcaret Park to experience Día de los Muertos as it is meant to be—through tradition, culture, and shared moments that carry real meaning.
Throughout the day, we move together through the Festival of Life and Death Traditions. You’ll walk among elaborate altars built to honor loved ones, see marigold-lined pathways, and experience the traditions that make this celebration so unique. This is not a performance—it is a living tradition, and you will be part of it.
There is a different tone to today. The music, the light, the way people gather—it all reflects something deeper. It is a celebration, but one rooted in memory, respect, and connection.
As evening sets in, the festival comes to life in a new way. Candlelight fills the space, performances take on a more emotional tone, and the entire park transforms into something unforgettable. Experiencing it together as a group is what makes this day stand out—it is shared, and it stays with you.
We return to Hotel Xcaret Arte later in the evening.
Highlights
- Experience Día de los Muertos at Xcaret Park, one of the most respected celebrations of this tradition in all of Mexico.
- Walk through elaborate altars and cultural displays that honor generations through storytelling, food, and symbolism.
- See the park transformed with marigold-lined paths, candles, and traditional decor that define the celebration.
- Experience live performances, music, and cultural expressions that bring the tradition to life in a meaningful way.
- Take part in a celebration centered on honoring loved ones while still embracing joy, connection, and shared experience.
- Spend this day together as a group, making it more impactful and memorable than experiencing it alone.
Fun Fact: Marigold flowers, seen throughout the celebration, are believed to guide spirits back to their loved ones with their color and scent.
Day 5: Día de los Muertos by Candlelight
Today gives you time to reset and take in everything you’ve experienced so far before we come back together in the evening for another night at Xcaret Park.
If Day 4 was about understanding the tradition, tonight is about experiencing it in its most powerful form.
As the sun sets, the park transforms. Candlelight lines the pathways, altars glow, and the entire atmosphere shifts into something quieter, more reflective, and more personal. Moving through the festival at night offers a completely different perspective—one that feels more intimate and more memorable.
We’ll walk through the celebration together, taking in the details you may not have noticed before. The music, the light, and the way everything comes together creates a setting that is both beautiful and meaningful without ever feeling heavy.
It’s a strong close to the experience—one that brings everything full circle.
We return to Hotel Xcaret Arte later in the evening.
Highlights
- Return to Xcaret Park for a second Día de los Muertos experience, offering a completely different perspective at night.
- Walk through candlelit pathways and illuminated altars that create one of the most visually striking moments of the trip.

Fun Fact: Many Día de los Muertos celebrations are believed to be most meaningful at night, when candlelight and offerings are thought to help guide spirits back to their families.
Day 6: A Farewell to the Riviera Maya
Wake to the soft sound of ocean waves and the warmth of the Caribbean sun as your final morning in paradise begins. Take one last slow stroll along the beach, breathe in the salt air, and savor the beauty of the turquoise sea.
For those who prefer a relaxed start, a leisurely breakfast awaits at the resort – one final taste of the refined, all-inclusive indulgence we’ve enjoyed throughout the week.
After breakfast, private transfers will take you to Cancun International Airport for your journey home. Though our time together comes to a close, the memories linger – sunset sails, ancient ruins, champagne toasts under the stars, and the joy of welcoming a new year surrounded by extraordinary women.
You depart refreshed, inspired, and already dreaming of the adventures still to come!
