DEBRA SHUTT – CO-FOUNDER
The brand, Beatrice Bradley, is based on the relationship of Debra Countryman Shutt and Beatrice (Belle Baker) Bradley, her grandmother. Bea’s strong will and fearless adventurer spirit helped Debra develop into a business entrepreneur. Debra built a sourcing and design company and embarked on a career which included a great deal of business travel. Constantly packing & unpacking a suitcase, Debra visited production vendors on several continents and enjoyed cultural experiences from sea to mountain top and many small villages in-between. Embracing the landscapes, the people, the food and all the adventures that travel brings, Debra had the experience of a lifetime! Having an encouraging husband and understanding children, she wove a tapestry of travel, business and family into one big continuing adventure.
Now, a little older and much wiser, Debra is thrilled to have the opportunity to weave Beatrice Bradley into a travel adventure company offered by Gage Outdoors. Together we want to help you and your friends experience the outdoors, the excitement of travel and life’s special moments exploring new places and meeting new friends.

Jane is from Minneapolis, MN and LOVES to travel and LOVES people! Jane works with Debra and Kim helping them pull together fabulous adventures and will be hosting some of the adventures. Jane has been on many interesting adventures on her many travels! Some of her favorite places she has traveled to are Maine, Ireland, California, New York City and Kentucky!

Mercy grew up in The Last Frontier in Anchorage, Alaska. From early childhood, she was exposed to wilderness adventures in the great outdoors. Whether she was running in the mountains, canoeing from the foot of Portage Glacier, skiing on the vast trail systems, orienteering through wilderness territory, shooting at the Cook Inlet range, moose hunting with friends, hiking remotely with bear bells or fishing for Alaskan salmon and halibut, she never strayed far from her love for adventure and the outdoors. Her sense of adventure has continued to develop as she has lived in Oregon, Minnesota, California and Colorado. Mercy currently resides with her family in Las Vegas, NV.
Mercy’s business career has been as eclectic as her outdoor experiences. Including a wide array of specialties such as sales, marketing, hospitality, luxury travel, branding and hunting and fishing sales and partnerships. All of these contribute to her success here at Gage Outdoors.

Before starting with Beatrice Bradley as a travel host in August 2022, Sharon was a professional Sales Executive working at developing customer and supplier relationships for various industries. Sharon’s love of travel surfaced during this time when she traveled extensively throughout the US, Canada, Asian, and European countries.
What brings so much joy to Sharon is seeing the long-lasting friendships develop from the first day to the last day of every trip. Sharon is dedicated to helping clients reach their dreams in every travel adventure!

After growing up in Michigan and attending college, I met my husband Steve, and we were married in 1997 on the television show Live with Kathy Lee and Regis in New York City. Our prize included a honeymoon in Greece where we jumped off a cruise ship and wandered Mykonos for 10 days. We were blessed with twin boys (Jack and Drew FSU Grads) in 2000 and our youngest (Evander a freshman at University of Central Florida) in 2005. Our family lives in Tampa, Florida where we love the white sandy beaches and year-round activities!
My most memorable trips include getting stuck on a cruise ship in Saint Maarten, not a bad place to be stranded! I have bounced down the frozen Alps in Austria, taught my kids how to ski in Montana and Colorado, and have wandered the streets of Havana, London, and Athens. A tour of Italy was a highlight especially memorable was sailing through the island of Venice.
When invited to join Beatrice Bradley in 2023 as a Host, it was the perfect fit! I am excited to guide you on your next unforgettable journey, where friendships can be made that last a lifetime, and experiences you will cherish forever! The best part about memories is making them, I hope to be a part of yours.

Suzanne Ray
When Suzanne graduated from college, she decided that she wanted to travel the world, so she was elated when her fiancé agreed that a perfect honeymoon would be a year and a half bicycle trip from British Columbia to Florida and then from the Netherlands to Greece. The once-in-a-lifetime trip left her with a constant wanderlust. Thankfully, the wonderful profession of teaching left Suzanne with time to travel each summer. When her two girls were little, that travel consisted of modest but adventurous camping and canoeing expeditions. As the girls grew, the family decided together that they preferred going to culturally interesting places like small villages in Mexico instead of heading to Hawaii, the vacation destination of choice for most Alaskans. In her forties, as a competitive masters runner, Suzanne was invited to travel to races in many unique locations, the most memorable of which was the Bangkok Marathon. Suzanne also enjoyed helping supervise service trips with groups of young people to Ecuador, Guatemala, and many locations in Mexico.
Over the years, Suzanne has found wonderful friends to go on adventures with. On the second day of a month-long walk on the Camino de Santiago del Norte (along the northern coast of Spain), she and her friend, Kathy, met a young German couple with whom they traveled the rest of the way and then joined for hikes across England, Scotland, and Portugal in subsequent summers. With other friends, she has wandered in Peru and hiked around Mt Blanc.
Suzanne is excited about joining Gage in offering travel experiences to women who are looking for friends to have adventures with. She loves to help women immerse themselves in new environments instead of simply being tourists, and she is dedicated to helping women be as active as they want to be while they develop new travel friendships that may last a lifetime.
Sara Barthel
Sara grew up in Iowa, went to college in Minnesota, lived in Guatemala for 2 years and spent 13 years in San Diego before relocating to Texas Hill country with her husband. She is a functional medicine nutritionist and former marathon, ultramarathon and Ironman athlete, but these days is more into yoga. She’s always up for an adventure…as long as it isn’t after 9pm! Sara loves cooking, reading, red wine, and experiencing new places and cultures.
Grace Kalan
Trip Cordinator
Grace is the daughter of the founder, Kim Kalan and is a Youth Patriot. She has worked side by side with her mom traveling for the last 18 years. Grace is heading to Oklahoma State University in the Fall of 2022 were she will be getting her degree in Events and Hospitality and International Tourism. Grace is an avid hunter and outdoors woman!
Alisa Lewnau
Layered by outdoor, travel, adventure and family, Alisa also received her Associate’s degree from the Minnesota School of Business. Upon receiving her degree, Alisa took a few years off to be with her kids as they traveled through their beginning stages of childhood. Alisa’s children are very active in sports (Baseball, Football, Dance, Gymnastics and Basketball) and most of her free time is spent supporting them with their aspirations and activities. Her ultimate passion in life is family; enjoying nature walks, travel and time together. Alisa spends most of her leisure time with her family at their cabin in Northern Minnesota enjoying the great outdoors and participating in various open-air endeavors.
Alisa wears a variety of hats for Gage Outdoors since 2018 by executing a wide range of tasks behind the scenes in support of Team Gage Outdoors. In addition to financial assistance for Gage Outdoors and its patrons, Alisa expedites and finalizes daily hunts while maintaining the calendar for all events.
Jody Halsted
Jody Halsted has been traveling to and through Ireland for over 20 years, making friends and embracing everything the country has to offer – from history and culture to food and adventure. As the host of the “Traveling in Ireland” podcast Jody loves to share the stories of people you can meet and places you can visit during your Ireland vacation. When not in Ireland Jody calls central Iowa home – when she and her family aren’t exploring the US in their RV.
Jody has one (very understanding) husband, 2 teenage daughters, and one very large, very furry dog.
ANGIE TROVIK
Angie Trovik is Manager of Accounting & Human Resourcse for BBGage. Angie began her Gage Outdoor Expeditions story back in 2001. Over the years, Angie has seen the travel booking agency expand and contract with the economy and experienced an everchanging expanding selection of premier hunting and fishing destinations in the Gage portfolio of offerings. In her current position, Angie is responsible for maintaining the accounting and trip booking databases, the staffing needs and all things financial. Angie grew up fishing and camping and has always enjoyed the outdoors. She has passed on this passion to her husband and children.
BENJ FLORES – WEBMASTER
Benj is from Pagadian City, Philippines. He is also an outdoor enthusiast and loves traveling and exploring with his wife and 3 children. He sometimes goes out with his friends for a long ride on motorbikes crossing city to cities. He also loves camping, beaches, parties, whiskey and beer. He has a degree in Information Technology. He started working as a freelance website developer in 2011. He is also involved in the development of Gage Outdoors and Big Hat Outdoors.
